How the online auction works. 1. Register your account. (A credit card is required to verify you as a real bidder. Your credit card is not charged). 2. You will receive an email with a confirmation link-click on it or use the authorization code to verify your account. 3. Log in. Browse and find great items. 4. There are two ways to bid: Place a bid based on the minimum bid amount or you can place a ‘Proxy Bid’- it's letting the system bid for you when you can't be at your computer to place the winning bid on something. All you have to do is enter the maximum amount you are willing to pay and the system will do the rest. The auction will use only as much of your maximum bid as is necessary to maintain your position as high bidder. 5. Bidding in the last 60 seconds. If a competing bid is placed in the last minute the auction will extend for another 60 seconds giving all bidders a fair chance to bid 6. Notifications: You will receive an automatic email notification if you are outbid and when the auction ends-you will receive an email congratulating you as the auction winner. 7. Winning the auction: If you have placed the highest bid log back into the system , click on the ‘My Account’ tab and click on your auction invoice. You will be directed to complete your payment with Visa, MasterCard or PayPal. (You will have the enter your credit card information again to complete your secure payment).
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) I just registered but can not log in? When you register for an account you will be sent a security token to the email address you used. Please check your spam or junk mail folders for this email. In the email there will be a link as well as a token ID. You will need to visit the website and confirm your registration using your token. Emails will be sent from Vonality.com I just placed a bid, but the current bid is lower then my maximum bid? The system uses a proxy bid process. This means that you can place a max bid and the system will auto bid you up in the minimum bid increments against other bidder. You can place a maximum bid knowing that you only have to pay the minimum bid amount over the second highest bidder. What are the bid increments? On each auction the system will tell you what the next minimum bid can be. Why does the auction extend the bid time? When a bid is placed in the last 60 seconds the auction extends for another 60 seconds to allow a fair bidding process and eliminate sniping (sniping is when someone places a bid in the last second and does not allow time for anyone else to place a higher bid) How do I pay for an auction item? When the auction ends, please log into your account and click on the My Accounts tab. You will be directed to a secure payments website where you will have to enter your credit card information or pay with PayPal. Please note that you do not have to sign up with PayPal to pay for an item. For higher value transactions (Over $5,000.00) a bidder concierge from Vonality will contact you. For your security we will never ask for a money order, mail order and all payments will always be made to Vonality Inc, Toronto, Canada and never to a 3rd party.
General Help You can search for items on the Home Page or browse items by category. To place a bid or sell an item you must register for an account. Buy Now - Some items may have the option of a Buy Now. The Buy Now feature allows instant purchasing. The Buy Now feature is available when indicated by a "Buy Now" button. Reserve - The Reserve price is the absolute minimum dollar amount the Seller will accept for an item. Buyers are notified after placing their bid if it is below the Reserve price. If a Buyer's maximum bid is greater than the Reserve price, the Reserve is automatically met and that user is the high bidder.
Searching - There are two ways to search for items, Basic Search and Advanced Search. Basic Search - Accessible from both the Home Page and Browse.
